The Beautification Awards acknowledge business and property owners that have improved the aesthetics of Sausalito public spaces. Maureen McCoy, the Awards Chair, sees these awards as a great way to show our community’s appreciation of beautification efforts.
The 2019 Beautification Awards Ceremony will be on September 17 at 6:30, hosted by SWA in the Marinship of Sausalito.
Each year a panel of judges reviews all nominees using criteria such as: sustainability, aesthetic appeal, the use of regionally appropriate plants, and water conserving irrigation. In addition, we give two other awards:
- The Little Willow Award for the person who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to beautification of Sausalito’s landscapes
- The Green Thumbs Award to the person who has participated significantly in our monthly Green Thumbs cleanup events

“The Beautification Awards are one example of how we are reinforcing a culture of shared responsibility within the community. This program acknowledges the work people are doing to make the city to look great, and seeks to encourage others to make Sausalito a great place to live, work and visit.”
