Tree Care and Maintenance

When the Beautification Initiative began in 2013, one of the priority recommendations was to address the condition of mature trees in some of our most high-profile public landscapes. In 2014, the City hired Bartlett Tree Experts to prune and fertilize more than 120 trees surrounding the Civic Center and lining Caledonia Street. Since then, dozens of dead and dying trees along North Bridgeway have been removed and dozens more pruned and fertilized. As a result, trees along some of Sausalito’s most public thoroughfares are looking sharper and healthier.

Twelve dedicated trees between Taste of Rome and the Visitor’s Center have also benefited from renewed attention.  Products of a 2004 commemorative project sponsored by the Trees and Views Committee, the trees have been assessed and rehabilitated, thanks to Sausalito Beautiful’s encouragement and the attention of professionals.

Most recently, dead trees along North Bridgeway have been removed, and a group of mature pine trees in downtown have been pruned and day-lighted, as have several trees in the vicinity of Viña Del Mar.
