Sausalito Beautiful is a volunteer organization that mobilizes the community to ensure that our public greenspaces are healthy, sustainable, and resilient. We believe that attractive, well-maintained parks, walkways, medians, and streetscapes are essential to livability and civic pride.
For the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, we challenged the community to share a unique poem that captures the essence of what the earth means to them. You will be inspired by the results!
Trees make the largest and longest lasting impact on public greenspaces, thus in 2019 and 2020, Sausalito Beautiful is focused on tree planting projects at MLK Park, on Bridgeway Boulevard, and on Caledonia Street. We recently led a Community Planting Day with 80 community members planting 94 trees and shrubs at Martin Luther King Park. Sausalito Beautiful worked with the Parks & Recreation Department to organize this historic planting but in reality, kudos goes to the entire community who helped through time, energy, and donations!
Through a combination of visionary leadership and citizen commitment, we’re confident that, together, we can ensure that Sausalito enjoys sustainably beautiful public greenspaces. We invite you to watch our video to learn more about our organization and how you can become involved.
“We envision a city whose appearance complements its uniquely beautiful natural setting.”
